ANNE FARRELL

Statement: MyLittleMovie

We follow the protagonist as she encounters obstacles, beauty, excitement and danger on this metaphorical journey. We are privy to her internal dialog as well as her external vocal expressions. She acts for all of us as we travel the same journey, on different paths.

The movie becomes part of a unique, sculptural installation that showcases and frames it, creating a specific viewing environment and giving the viewer an extended sensory experience.

My process begins by opening up to visions, events, signs and dreams. I draw and draw. A story unfolds. The movie is brought into being: sketching scenes, constructing them digitally, filming in front of a green screen, layering, manipulating, animating, using live actors, puppets and wholly synthetic constructions. When the visual element is complete, the audio components are added using a similar process of collection, building and manipulation.
