DUNHAM AURELIUS

My work focuses on the human condition influenced by my observations of war, suffering, oppression and poverty. I also innately identify with, and pursue an aesthetic connection to the aspects of primitive tribal arts and indigenous cultures. I create in response to visceral and primal reactions to my view of these worlds. My sculptures are composed of a variety of materials inclusive of clays, waxes, wood, steel, bone, and found objects. I use the lost wax casting method for transforming my art into bronze.
